INT. CAR -- EVENING

MIDUS and JACKSON are listening to some music in ALICIA
RENNER'S car. She turns it up a bit.

       ALICIA RENNER
You have to listen to this song!

They do for a bit. JACKSON is the first to speak.

       JACKSON
What the hell sort of song is this?
My girlfriend can beat your girlfriend
          up? What is this crap.

Alicia starts to pull back a bit.

       JACKSON (CONT'D)
Am I Right or am I right?

MIDUS shrugs his shoulders.

EXT. STREETS -- EVENING

MIDUS and JACKSON are dropped off and ALICIA speeds away.

       JACKSON
Yo, what do you think that was all
          about?

       MIDUS
I dunno. Maybe she was like, angry
          at you for something.

       JACKSON
But I haven't done anything today
          yet.

       MIDUS
          Give it time.

There's a long pause as they stand outside of a movie theater.

       MIDUS (CONT'D)
          Wait. I got it.

       JACKSON
          The recipe for gold?

       MIDUS
No. That song she played. She
thought that song described how your
          relationship is.

INT. ALICIA'S ROOM -- DAY

ALICIA is writing and listening to the same song as before.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
             2.

       ALICIA RENNER
          This song describes how our
          relationship is.

EXT. STREETS -- NIGHT

MIDUS and JACKSON get a little nervous about the situation.

       JACKSON
          Oh. I see.

       MIDUS
          Yeah.

Long pause again.

       JACKSON
This is like one of those movies.
You have the scene where the unknowing
guy insults the girls choice of music
or set design or novel or work of
          creativity without realizing it's
about him, and then we come back
later to the realiziation with the
          help of a best friend.

INT. CAR -- EVENING

Now three other people are in the car. They act out
JACKSON'S story without dialogue in action until JACKSON
finishes speaking.

       OTHER JACKSON
          I've come to a realization!

He runs off.

INT. SCIENCE LAB -- DAY

OTHERJACKSON begins to pour some test tubes and the like
inside a labratory. He shouts out just as some ingredients
react.

       OTHER JACKSON
Success. I've made a recipe for
          gold.

He pulls out the paper.

       OTHER JACKSON (CONT'D)
Two parts iron, two parts half and
half, and one large African Elephant.
          Pure genius.

EXT. STREETS -- EVENING

MIDUS and JACKSON are still standing outside the theater.
